Monaghan Named VP, External Servicing, of Chase's Education Finance Business

INDIANAPOLIS, August 10, 2005 - Chase announced the selection of industry veteran Linda Monaghan as Vice President of External Servicing for JPMorgan Chase Bank's education finance business. She will assist in developing a growing operations and servicing division for one of the largest U.S. student lenders, serving 2,500 schools and universities across the country through both the Chase and Bank One brands. In 2004, Chase was the largest FFELP lender, funding more than $6.4 billion in student loans.

"Linda's experience with the many facets of the student loan business will help us continue to grow our business" said Laura Conder, First Vice President of Chase's Operations & Service Provider Management division. "Linda's vast amount of experience in every aspect of student loan servicing will make an immediate impact on our operational success and ensure continued, reliable service for our schools and borrowers."

"We offer schools a wide variety of external origination and servicing choices," said Monaghan. "Being a part of the Chase team in this capacity will allow me to uphold the highest service-level standards, regardless of the external servicer chosen."

Monaghan started her education finance career at the former USA Group in 1993 as a default prevention specialist. She quickly moved into an operations management role and has worked for well known industry players Sallie Mae and Southwest Student Services Corporation. Linda has also participated in the NCHELP Regs Committee, Common Manual MPN Workgroup, and ELM lender operational meetings.
