You can consolidate any eligible private student loans that were used for your qualified
education expenses, including certified private student loans where the funds went
directly to the school. These can be any private Chase student loans, private education
loans from another lender or a combination of the two. Federal loans are not eligible
for this program.
No. However, all of your private student loans can be consolidated into a Chase
Private Consolidation Loan and all of your federal student loans can be consolidated
into a federal consolidation loan. This means that after consolidating your federal
and private student loans separately, you'll only have two student loan payments
each month.
Yes. You can consolidate if you only have one private student loan. Consolidation
may allow you to take advantage of a lower interest rate and may lower your monthly
payment.
You can
apply for private student loan consolidation on your own or with a cosigner.
Having a creditworthy cosigner will result in a lower interest rate than if you
apply on your own. In addition, upon your request, the cosigner can be removed after
36 months of on-time payments, if you meet established credit criteria, and your
interest rate would not change.
No. You can
apply to consolidate your private student loans any time after you graduate.

Yes. It's extremely important that you continue to make all of the regular payments
on the student loans you're consolidating until your consolidation loan is finalized.
Once your private student loan consolidation due date is established, it can't be
changed. However, you have the option to make a payment any time before the due
date.
Yes. You can prepay any or all of your Chase Private Consolidation Loan at any time
without penalty. Prepayment reduces the total amount of interest paid over the life
of the loan.
No. You can prepay your Chase Private Consolidation Loan without a penalty or fee.
Repayment begins approximately 45 days after the consolidation loan is funded. Remember
that if you consolidate private student loans during your grace period, you will
lose the remaining grace period and repayment will begin immediately. You can make
the most of your grace period by waiting to consolidate at the end of it.
The loan repayment term ranges from 20 to 30 years depending on the total amount
of the loan.
